In 2009, the Cape Breton Partenership Women in Business Awards awarded Dr. Korven and Celtic Creatures Vet Clinic the “Business Start-Up of the Year” award. Dr. Korven enjoys the challenges of running her own business. Her favorite thing about her job is being a medical detective, piecing together symptoms, diagnostic findings and figuring out a diagnosis and treatment plan. She enjoys the rewards of seeing patients improve and getting to know her clients. She is also interested in soft tissue surgery and dentistry.
In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her pets: two cats Quasi and Nazca, and two dogs Torridon and Orca.
She started working at Celtic Creatures in 2013. Her work interests include dental surgery, wound management and feline medicine. She loves the day to day challenges of veterinary medicine and the opportunities to learn from each case, and of course kisses and cuddles with new puppy and kitten patients.
During her time off Dr. MacIsaac loves exploring Cape Breton – hiking with her dog Mattie, or spending time at the beach or a new restaurant with friends. She is an avid gardener, loves trying new recipes in the kitchen, and plays trumpet in a local community band. She also enjoys reading and cuddling with her two kitties, Izzy and Poe.
She started working at Celtic Creatures in 2018. Her work interests include nutrition, behaviour, and internal medicine. She looks forward to finally living out her childhood dream of being a vet, and having a job that allows frequent kitten/puppy cuddle breaks.
During her time off Dr. Hébert loves anything to do with the outdoors, including kayaking and hiking. While getting her degree she worked for ten years at a bakery, so any rainy days are spent in the kitchen trying out cupcake recipes to be judged by her coworkers. She also enjoys horror movie marathons while snuggling her beagle Vera, border collie Baler, and orange tabby Gunther.
Dr. Perry greatly values the human-animal bond, and enjoys working with animals and clients to strengthen that bond through a healthy life well lived.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys riding her horse, Cookie, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming– any water activity really, and reading. She is an avid writer and a beginner potter/sculptor. Laura has one cat, named Mr. Brown.
On top of being a registered veterinary technician who loves hands-on care and nursing sick animals back to health. Terrilee is also our inventory manager – if we don’t have it, she’ll do her best to get it in! She keeps the staff and clinic in tiptop shape and her experience and wisdom are a great asset to our team.
Terrilee and her husband, Steven, enjoy boating and spending time at their cottage with their two children. She has a cat named Simon.
Rachel has been with Celtic Creatures since September 2013. She loves laboratory work, veterinary dentistry and patient care. She brings a fresh and up to date knowledge base to our team and is always keen to learn and teach anything new that the veterinarian field has to offer.
In her spare time she likes to craft, play video games and take trips to Halifax to spend time with her family. Rachel lives with her two dachshunds, Bailey and Rosie.
Monique has a special love for cats, especially white ones, and doesn’t mind having to handle the particularly saucy ones! She loves taking care of her patients, nursing them back to health, and giving them a little extra TLC while they’re here with us.
In her spare time you might find Monique and her husband Adam spending time with their large extended families, or helping out at their local church events. They also love spending time in the summer at the beach and camping around our beautiful Cabot trail.
Jenna is no stranger to the staff as she had volunteered with us in the spring of 2013, so moving back to Cape Breton was a perfect time for her join our Celtic Creatures team. Jenna has a passion for anesthesia and patient care, and loves working with cats, especially the saucy ones.
In her spare time you may find Jenna with her husband Mason hiking or spending time at the beach. She also enjoys practicing yoga and taking time to de-stress. Mason and Jenna have 2 cats, Toby and Penny, a rabbit named Willow, and a dog named Piper.
