Microchipping

Microchipping is the act of injecting a small electronic device under the skin of an animal which allows for identification. Many clinics and rescues scan pets for a microchip when picking up a stray or lost animal. If your pet is microchipped, when found by another person or SPCA , they can scan for the microchip and look up your information to contact you based on the information you have registered with the microchip manufacturer. Microchipping is an excellent way to increase the likelihood that your pet would get back to you in the event they ever escaped.
