Dr. Laura Perry

DVM, B.Sc

Dr. Laura Perry grew up in Howie Centre and attended Cape Breton University, where she completed a Bachelor of Science with Honors. Her thesis research was performed in conjunction with Celtic Creatures and focused on otitis externa in dogs. Dr. Perry graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island in 2018. She stayed an additional year to complete an Internship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery. From there, Dr. Perry spent two years working in Edmonton, Alberta, with both horses and small animals. Her professional interests include palliation and pain control for senior pets, preventative care and alternative therapies, such as chiropractic medicine.

Dr. Perry greatly values the human-animal bond, and enjoys working with animals and clients to strengthen that bond through a healthy life well lived.

In her spare time, Laura enjoys riding her horse, Cookie, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming– any water activity really, and reading. She is an avid writer and a beginner potter/sculptor. Laura has one cat, named Mr. Brown.
